Burundi Limited Liability Company (SARL/SURL)
- Locally known as SARL, it must have at least one director and one shareholder. It must have two shareholders if one of the shareholders is a company. Shareholders can be of any nationality. The Minimum share capital, required to complete the company setup process is 1 USD. The LLC is required to appoint a statutory auditor and to submit audited financial statements annually.
Burundi Public Limited Company (Société anonyme – SA)
- A PLC requires a minimum capital of USD 1 to be incorporated. It must have at least three shareholders and two directors appointed who may be of any nationality.
- A Burundi PLC must have its annual financial statements audited and submitted annually. A Burundi PLC must appoint a qualified and an approved auditor.
Burundi Free Zone Company
- Companies are required to export their entire production, generate substantial value to the Burundi economy by providing employment opportunities for the majority of Burundi’s nationals. Burundi Free Zone Companies can be 100% foreign owned and exempt from all import and export taxes.
